A LITTLE ABOUT ME

I am fortunate to love the work I do...

I bring a rich and varied work history to this work. I had many years as a small business owner, professional ballroom instructor and community volunteer with an undergraduate degree from Seattle Pacific University in Psychology and Sociology/Anthropology. I spent a semester studying abroad in Costa Rica. I graduated Magna Cum Laude, with various awards and published an article that assisted in the Cowlitz Indian Tribe's federal recognition.

I hold a Masters Degree from Santa Clara University and am licensed in the state of California.

My mental health career began as a child in a dysfunctional family, surrounded by many loved ones with mental health challenges. More formally, my first work experience was as a parent-child and child therapist at Kidscope Center for Developmental and Behavioural Health in an interdisciplinary setting that included a team of Developmental Behavioral Pediatricians, Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Occupational Therapists and therapists. I provided assessment, child and dyadic therapy for children from 4-9 years old utilizing developmental, relational and trauma-informed models. The emphasis on children and families continued at Asian American Recovery Services where I worked with children from 5-18 years old and their parents.

I built my private practice with an emphasis in divorce, depression, anxiety, bipolar, life changes, stress and trauma in relational, psychodynamic, psycho-educational frameworks. Couple's therapy has always been a part of my practice.

Throughout my mental health career, I have specialized in separation and divorce. I provide Co-Parent Counseling, Divorce Coaching, and Parenting Plan Mediation.

I have been a member of the AFCC, CAMFT and IACP for a number of years and am trained as a mediator and co-parent specialist.

I am very active in state and local levels of Collaborative Divorce as Vice President of Collaborative Practice Silicon Valley and Chair of Public Education for Collaborative Divorce California.

Specialties: Mental health challenges such as depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders, trauma, co-parenting and life transitions, divorce and high conflict divorce.
